What sign-compatibility tables actually measure
A classic compatibility table asks one question: the angle between two people's Sun signs. Signs sharing an element (fire with fire, earth with earth) are called compatible, signs ninety degrees apart difficult, signs opposite complementary but tense. It is a shorthand, and as shorthands go it is not a bad one.
The Sun sign is one placement you share with many people. You do not have the same relationship with all of them. A Sun-sign table does not measure how you communicate, share values or respect boundaries; even a comparison of two full charts cannot replace those actual behaviors.
None of which means throwing the tables away. They are useful for starting a conversation and for naming a tendency. They are not an answer to "will this work", and the trouble begins when they are handed to someone who asked that question as though they were.
Which placements help you explore relationship compatibility?
Relationship astrology considers more than Sun signs. Moon contacts are used to reflect on emotional needs, Venus on affection and values, Mars on initiative and attraction, and Mercury on communication. Sun–Moon and Sun–Venus contacts also belong in the reading. No placement alone proves how someone will behave.
With reliable birth times and locations, the Ascendant and houses add context. One person's planet in the other's house may suggest a theme touching different areas of their lives. Both directions matter. A placement cannot establish how a relationship's first weeks or later years will unfold.
Two couples with the same Sun signs can have different placements and different lived experiences. Use a reading to open a conversation rather than decide its outcome: How do we build closeness? What do we need during a disagreement? How do we express boundaries? Look for answers in your actual behavior before drawing them from a chart.
How Baby Astro reads compatibility
There is no sign-to-sign compatibility table in the app, and there never was. Two birth charts are computed and the real aspects between them are extracted instead: your Venus to their Mars, your Moon to their Saturn, one by one, each with its orb.

We do not produce an overall compatibility percentage. Intensity is not relationship quality: attraction and emotional safety are different questions. These are symbolic indicators derived from calculated chart contacts, not scientific probabilities.

Moon contacts are marked approximate; other planetary contacts can also change with the actual time. Do not treat these as exact aspects or a measure of relationship quality.
What a compatibility score says, and what it does not
A compatibility reading does not guarantee a relationship's future. A chart cannot prove whether your relationship will last or whether your partner is honest. Astrological symbols can help name themes you want to discuss; compare the interpretation with your lived experience rather than accepting it as a verdict.
That is also its best use. It gives language to "why do we always get stuck on this", and with that language the subject stops being a character flaw and becomes two different needs colliding. That does not rescue a relationship, but it does make it discussable.
